The sanitary towels collected will be donated to community centres, secondary schools and women’s shelters as identified by the Anglo American South Africa Education Programme and the Anglo American Foundation.
Access to sanitary towels remains a challenge for millions of unemployed women and young girls in South Africa, due to affordability.
Especially for schoolgirls, lack of sanitary protection often means staying away from school for up to a week each month, missing out on critical learning which may impact termly and year-end marks.
Help us help as many girls and women as possible by donating sanitary towels throughout Women’s Month. The donation point is located on the ground floor of the Vuka Café area.
