Safety is something we refuse to compromise on, regardless of where we are or what we are doing. That means just making your way up or down the stairs in this building needs to be done safely too.
We ask that all colleagues, without exception, always hold on to the handrails. A slip ‘n trip can mean just a bruised ego – or it could mean broken bones or a concussion. We give our all to eliminating injuries because we value life and are unconditional about safety, health and wellbeing at work and at home.
Remember:
- Always hold onto the handrails
- Use the lifts if both hands are occupied, or ask a colleague to help you with what you are carrying
- Always keep to your left when ascending or descending, creating one-way traffic in each direction
- Never be on your cellphone while using the stairs, or walking about the building in general
- Keep your head up and maintaining awareness of your surroundings and of each step you take, proceeding with caution if wearing heels.
