A Reminder On Our Gifts, Entertainment And Hospitality Policy

Treating people to gifts and entertainment, such as meals or travel, is common practice in most countries. Exchanging gifts or entertaining may help to build goodwill and foster good relations with business partners and other stakeholders. But anti-corruption laws prohibit offering or providing anything of value, including GEH, to a third party in order to gain an improper advantage or exert influence over decision-making.

With this in mind, colleagues in Anglo American are prohibited from offering or receiving any gifts, entertainment or hospitality that:

  • May create a sense of obligation
  • May influence or be perceived to influence their business judgement
  • May create, or appear to create, a conflict between an employee’s personal interests and those of the Anglo American Group
  • Goes against the specific rules and thresholds your Business or Group Function has in place on the use of GEH
