The Mandela Day 2023 Comfort Pack Drive Starts Today!

Matla A Bana supplies comfort packs to the SAPS Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) units in all nine provinces of South Africa. These packs contain emergency goods for small (5 to 8 years) and medium (9 to 12 years) girls and they arehanded over to children when they report a crime. 2,500 children were assisted with the comfort packs in 2022.
Anglo American has recognised that gender-based violence (GBV) results in the violation of mostly women and children. We will be demonstrating value and care for each other by partnering with Matla a Bana, who are equally intolerant of all forms of violence, bullying, harassment and victimisation, and are taking a stand to prevent GBV. By supporting causes like these in our communities we continue to position the company as a trusted corporate leader in South African society.
The comfort pack drive will take place today and tomorrow.

The packs include comfort items (teddy bear, colouring book and crayons), eats (energy bar, cold drink and soup) and emergency goods (panties, sanitary towels, soap, facecloth, deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrush).
