What is Business Continuity Management?

Disruptions in our operations can happen at any moment. e.g. cyber attack, electricity, water and other failures; including losing key employees.

Business Continuity Management (BCM) is a fundamental aspect of organisation resilience as it will enable the Company to respond to disruptions through the implementation of emergency response, crisis management, business continuity and IT service continuity plans and arrangements.

Business Continuity Management is about being prepared to deal with difficult situations, in order for our business to able to continue its function with as little disruption as possible.

Whether it’s a business, public sector organisation, or charity, you need to know how you can keep going under any circumstances.

A good Business Continuity Management plan recognises potential threats to an organisation and analyses what impact they may have on day-to-day operations.

It also provides a way to mitigate these threats, putting in place a framework which allows key functions of the business to continue – even if the worst happens.
