Climate Action Day

Climate Action Day

You’re invited to our Climate Action Day, which will take place at 144 Oxford on Tuesday, 8 November.
Climate Action Day 1

Why now?
“We are the first generation to feel the effect of climate change and the last generation who can do something about it.” – Barack Obama.

Our climate is changing and we are starting to feel the impact at increasing speed and severity, reinforcing the need for all of us to take urgent action.

For nearly three decades, the UN has been bringing together almost every country at annual global climate summits (Conference of the Parties, also known as COPs), to pool resources and agree on ways we can tackle climate change and speed up the reduction of our greenhouse gas emissions.

This year, COP27 will take place in Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt from 6 – 18 November. We have decided to use this occasion to showcase what we’re doing as a business, and what we can do as individuals to help mitigate and adapt to climate change, both at work and at home.

What to expect

You’ll hear about some key projects that will help transition Anglo American and De Beers Group operations to carbon-neutral. Discover how some of the new technologies we’re developing are helping us to save energy and other precious resources. And explore how you can get involved and make a difference.
