Recognise Phishing When You See It

Woah, there ! You’ve just opened an email that doesn’t seem right.

Don’t act on it until you’ve checked for these seven suspicious signs to help you know for sure…

1 Sender – you didn’t expect it or know the sender
2 Address – the domain name after the @ looks odd
3 Spelling – typos and bad grammar
4 Pressure – it’s trying to make you act quickly
5 Hyperlinks – hover first to check them, they might not match-up
6 Attachment – if you’re not sure, don’t open it
7 External – if an ‘external sender’ banner is showing, be extra vigilant
