Defensive Driver Training
If you are travelling on business, go for Defensive Driver Training. It will enable you to become a better, safer driver and is a requirement of our Light Vehicles Standard.
Theory training takes place in the Training Room on the 6th Floor of 144 Oxford in Rosebank. The Practical session takes place directly after the Theory training. To qualify for training, you must be in possession of a valid South African driver’s licence and have been so for at least one year.
The course runs from 09h00 to 12h00, with the next course taking place on Wednesday 17 May.
The course consists of the following modules:
- Defensive Driving Theory
- Basic Vehicle Maintenance and Pre-use Inspection
- Defensive Driving Practical (will take place after the theory session, your time slot for the practical evaluation will be arranged during the theory session)
- Hijack Prevention (theory)
- Hijack Prevention (practical demonstration)
The order of the modules for the day may differ due to weather conditions or operational considerations. A booking form authorised by your HOD is required for this course as the cost per person is R955.
Please email the completed and correctly authorised booking form to Lifeskillsjhb@angloamerican.com to secure your booking for your practical session. Attendees must be in possession of a valid South African driver’s licence and be able to produce it on the day of the course.
Use is made of the attendee’s own vehicle, which needs to be in a roadworthy condition and have a valid licence disk. Attendees will receive a certificate valid for two years.
