JP Morgan Corporate Challenge – Are You In Or Out?

JP Morgan Corporate Challenge - Are You In Or Out?

This year so many people wanted to take part in the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge, we found ourselves over-subscribed mere days after launching our campaign. If you know you are no longer able to participate in the race, please let us know as soon as possible!

We have Team Captains for each business unit, who are managing all matters relating to participation. Depending on which unit you fall under, contact your Team Captain as soon as possible if you know you can no longer take part:

Things to remember

Collect your race pack: Don’t leave for the race before getting properly kitted out, ready to run against gender-based violence (GBV) and bullying, harassment and victimisation (BHV). Pick up your branded race t-shirt and orange socks from the Anglo American Gym on the 7th floor of 144 Oxford, from Tuesday, 28 March 2023 till race day, Thursday 30 March 2023. Collection time is 09h00 – 16h00.

Parking: Parking tickets are limited and will be issued with race packs on a first-come, first-served basis.

Transport to the venue: For those who either don’t want to drive or did not receive parking tickets, shuttles will be made available to all participants. These will depart from Tottenham Road, which can be accessed via P2 (Parking level 2) at 144 Oxford. Please note that if you work at GSS, you will need to make your way to 144 Oxford as no shuttles will depart directly from GSS.

The Anglo American Hospitality Tent: Our hospitality tent at the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge this year is called ‘The Oasis’. It will be accessible after the race, to all registered participants, offering refreshments and exciting pre- and post-race activities and entertainment. Please note that if you are not registered as a participant, you will not be able to access The Oasis.

Transport from the venue: Shuttles returning to 144 Oxford will depart from 20h00, first passing through GSS. The last shuttle will depart Wanderers at 21h30.

Safe-keeping of valuables: We encourage you to not take valuables with you to the venue, but to rather leave them in the staff lockers available at 144 Oxford and GSS. A reminder that these are not overnight lockers and you will need to remove your items upon return from Wanderers. Those driving to the race venue should please store all valuables safely in the boot of their cars.

You’re registered – but are you training?

Starting a fitness regime can be challenging, especially if you’re doing it alone. That’s why Anglo American has created a special running club called ‘Anglo American South Africa Running Club’ which connects South Africa-based staff onto a worldwide platform called Strava, an app that tracks exercise. All Anglo American staff can join Strava for FREE, and connect with our current 93-member base for support, encouragement, goal-setting and more!

Plus, Strava can be used as an effective communication tool to encourage your workmates to join the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge, and to motivate all to get active and healthy!

If you’re part of the MyWellness platform that’s linked to the Anglo American Gym, Strava is perfect to support, encourage and set up workout times with your gym buddies.

Hook up with 144 Oxford Running on WhatsApp… they’re on Strava too! Our ‘144 Oxford Running’ members have a WhatsApp group of 70 members, most of whom are linked on Strava.

If you’d like to join the group, simply click here

There will be prizes for the top three Anglo American race finishers at our marquee, after the race. We look forward to seeing you all at the starting line, and the finish line for the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge!
