One Anglo

1. When will our Kumba colleagues move to 144 Oxford?

There is currently not enough available floor space to accommodate Kumba. We are however looking at various scenarios with the aim of getting Kumba to join us at 144 Oxford as soon as possible.

2. What’s the rationale for GSS not moving in with the rest of Anglo?

GSS have embarked on implementing their ‘Journey to Excellence’ strategy, which focuses on their new way of working and growth agenda. As a result they will be moving to their own state-of- the-art building that supports their specific agenda. Their new home is called Oxford Park and is only 150m from 144 Oxford.

3. Please can you explain the Destination Brand and why do we use it for 144 Oxford?

In South Africa, Anglo American has various business units, Anglo American Platinum, Kumba Iron Ore, and De Beers Group. Apart from De Beers Group, the group operates as a single brand entity, using one logo, communicating messages that are consistent, aligned and compelling. All business units, with the exception of Kumba Iron Ore and Coal SA will be moving into 144 Oxford in 2021 and our building design has to consider how we implement the Anglo American brand and the De Beers Group brand, into our new environment.

We have implemented the prescribed global design principles that have been created to define all Anglo American and De Beers Group buildings, called the Destination Brand Guidelines.

Using the fixed and flexible language that has been created to allow for local adaptation, we have customised and localised our design in the areas where flexibility is allowed. 144 Oxford will deliver a consistent and coherent brand message that will be experienced at all Anglo American and De Beers Group buildings around the world. We see our buildings and offices as destinations, where our employees and guests experience our brands. The design at 144 Oxford has been considered and informed by all of the above as well as influences from our South African environment.
