1. How would the route between the office and the exit points, e.g. Gautrain station, taxi rank, be secured for employees commuting between these points?

The crime rate in Rosebank is very low in comparison to other areas. Anglo American’s Safety Team has already collaborated with the Rosebank security team. In addition, we will be placing our own security guards in strategic points where required.

2. How safe is the walk from the Gautrain/ Taxi Rank to the office? Will there be shuttle services to the office?

3. Will furniture (e.g. office chairs) be available for employees to purchase to set up a home office?

We are currently looking at this as an option for employees, so as soon as a decision is made, we will let you know.

4. Will office furniture from the Marshalltown offices be repurposed?

Some of the furniture will be brought over from the CBD buildings, while some will be donated for the repurposing of these buildings.

5. Is the plan that when we come back to the office we will be moving directly into 144 Oxford or will we be expected to move back to JHB campus in the interim?

You will not be expected to move back to the JHB CBD campus. The move to 144 Oxford will happen in a phased approach, starting in September 2021.

6. When are we moving into 144 Oxford?

The move 144 Oxford is scheduled to take place in a phased approach, starting in September 2021.

7. Will there be Halaal options in the canteen?

There will be a canteen that offers a wide variety of food, including Halaal, prepared freshly in our own Halaal kitchen.

8. Will we still have our security posted within the Rosebank neighbourhood?

Yes.

9. Is there sufficient parking located at 144 Oxford?

There is a parking management system with bookable parking to optimise parking allocation. There is also flexible working and the Gautrain is close by.

10. What is the expected traffic congestion in terms of getting into and out of the office? Any research on this?

This will be monitored; we will only know once the office is occupied.

11. Could we donate additional furniture to charities and perhaps schools or libraries in need?

Yes, we are working on various options in terms of donating items.

12. Is it possible to refer our previous Canteen to the new companies that will be catering at the Canteen as they are currently desperate for work?

We have an entirely new catering model, but yes once the new company is appointed, we will make the offer.

13. Will there be Medical facilities on the premises? How close is the nearest hospital?

Yes, there is a Wellness Centre. The two closest hospitals are in the centre of Rosebank - Netcare Rosebank (Private) and Rosebank Clinic Hospital (Government).

14. Will we be moving old files from the old building to new building, or will these be put into storage?

Due to limited space in the new building, and as part of the move process at JHB Campus, we will archive old files, and ensure that legal retention of documents are correctly implemented. There will be storage facilities for recent files, for each department in 144 Oxford.

15. Will we have the opportunity to collect documents and belongings at 44 Main?

Yes, the project is finalising planning to facilitate the packing up of workstations and offices in JHB Campus, starting in June 2021. Each employee will have the opportunity, in a structured and safe way, to pack a box for the new office, or take personal belongings home. Packing boxes will be provided for that purpose.

16. Please advise if Anglo American can negotiate discounts with Bolt or Uber for transport affordability to employees who don’t have cars or who would try avoiding driving in traffic to work?

We can certainly request Supply Chain to investigate.

17. Will the meeting room’s technology be ready to have mixed meetings with several participants dialling in over Teams?

Yes, it will be ready, and we will be introducing new technology, about which we will communicate further details closer to the move phase.
