We can spend so much time criticising ourselves and often we do it without even noticing because it almost becomes a natural thing to to do. We have to create moments to show ourselves respect, honour and to celebrate ourselves. Celebrating self is a deliberate choice to actively participate in re\u00a5 ecting on the best of ourselves rather than what we perceive as our problem areas. There\u2019s no need for a special occasion. YOU are the special occasion.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>According to an article written by Sharon Martin on the Psych Central website, self-love means that\u2026<\/strong><\/p><ul><li style=\"text-align: left;\">You accept yourself fully, treat yourself with kindness and respect, and nurture your growth and wellbeing.<\/li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">It encompasses not only how you treat yourself but also your thoughts and feelings about yourself.<\/li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">When we conceptualise self-love, we can try to imagine what we would do for ourselves, how we talk to ourselves, and how we feel about ourselves.<\/li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">When we love ourselves, we have an overall positive view of who and how we are.<\/li><\/ul><p>This doesn\u2019t mean you feel positive about yourself all the time. It\u2019s normal to feel disappointed or annoyed with ourselves but still love ourselves.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Why do we need to love ourselves?<\/strong><\/p><ul><li style=\"text-align: left;\">Without self-love, we\u2019re likely to be highly self-critical and fall into people-pleasing and perfectionism.<\/li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">We\u2019re more likely to tolerate abuse or mistreatment from others.<\/li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">We may neglect our own needs and feelings because we don\u2019t value ourselves.<\/li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">We may self-sabotage or make decisions that aren\u2019t in our own best interest.<\/li><li style=\"text-align: left;\">Self-love is the foundation that allows us to be assertive, set boundaries and create healthy relationships with others, practice self-care, pursue our interests and goals, and feel proud of who we are.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section whether we consider them big or small. Make a commitment to remember that self-love is an essential service for self and that you are the only service provider. We have<br \/>daily victories that don\u2019t have to go unnoticed. Give yourself that standing ovation. Speak kindly to yourself, light a candle, play a song, take a few breaths or a walk and meditate on your own accomplishments. We don\u2019t need a red carpet or a fan club.
